Dr Sasha Rakoff has campaigned for nearly a 25 years about the sex trade. In the pressure group Object which ensured a law change to stop strip clubs being licensed like cafes and criminalised the purchase of sex from anyone coerced.

In 2016 she set up ‘Not Buying It’ raising awareness of the ‘underground' operation of the sex trade when it has a high street presence (like strip clubs); she successfully took legal action against local councils and the police, for their pro-sex industry stance.

Diane Martin CBE is Chair of ‘A Model for Scotland’ and has spent more than thirty years championing the rights, safety and wellbeing of women affected by commercial sexual exploitation. She has led the development of a holistic, trauma-informed and sustainable model of frontline support that enables women to safely exit exploitation and rebuild their lives.

Working in partnership with government, local authorities, the criminal justice system and the third sector, Diane has played a pivotal role in shaping policy, influencing strategy and improving frontline services focused on preventing exploitation and supporting women to exit safely. In recognition of her outstanding services to vulnerable women, she was appointed CBE in 2013.


Dr. Jacci Stoyle has campaigned for over 20 years to end commercial sexual exploitation. She began in 2004 as the Chair of Paisley Amnesty International, campaigning for a law based on the Nordic Model to address demand for prostitution. She was a member of MSP Rhoda Grant’s grassroots group and became the secretary for the Cross-Party Group for Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CPG for CSE) in the Scottish Parliament for 10 years. She took a motion to the Scottish Liberal Democrats Conference in May 2019 seeking to change party policy on prostitution to an ‘end demand’ approach.
