Description
A fringe event for Liberal Democrat Spring Conference 2024, hosted by Liberal Voice for Women and LGB Liberal Forum
The ethics of administering synthetic “sex change” drugs to children is currently in the spotlight, with organisations - including the NHS - mired in controversy over it in recent years.
We are proud to welcome two leading experts in the field of supporting gender-distressed children and young people to discuss the current situation in the UK and internationally.
Stella O’Malley
Stella is the founder and Executive Director of Genspect, an international organisation that advocates for a healthy approach to sex and gender. She is a clinical advisor for the Society for Evidence-based Gender Medicine, and the Clinical Advisory Network on Sex and Gender, and a founding member of Thoughtful Therapists.
Stephanie Davies-Arai
Stephanie is the founder and director of Transgender Trend, the leading UK organisation calling for evidence-based healthcare for gender dysphoric children and young people, and fact-based teaching in schools. She was shortlisted for the John Maddox Prize 2018 for the schools guide, Supporting gender diverse and trans-identified students in schools.
