‘Women’s Rights, Gender Wrongs’ with Sally Wainwright and ‘Women’s Ways, Women’s Plays’ with Paula Boulton
Paula Boulton is a playwright, theatre director and musician who lives in Corby. Her work draws from and documents the lives of the people in her town. Since 1998 she has written and produced over 50 plays with her theatre groups and has recently written the history of those groups. She has been a women's rights activist since leading a walkout at the age of 14 over the right to wear trousers. She was a founder signatory of Labour Women’s Declaration and co-founded Lesbian Labour and Lesbian Fightback.
Sally Wainwright has been a member of Women's Declaration International since 2020, and is co-editor of ‘Women's Rights, Gender Wrongs" which explores the global impact of gender identity ideology.
She is particularly interested in women's space, and co-founded women's and lesbian organisations including Durham Women's Aid; the Deckchairs Collective, in response to the introduction of Section 28; and the Audacious Women Festival which encourages women to Do What You Always Wish You Dared.
She is an involved with several Scottish women's rights organisations, including Scottish Lesbians.
