Description
Please join us at Liberal Democrat Conference for the launch of our brand new pamphlet, Liberals and Women's Rights.
We have brought together a line-up of brilliant and courageous speakers to share their expertise and experience of researching, creating and campaigning for the sex-based reality of women’s existence to remain recognised in law and in life.
Raquel Rosario Sánchez: Frontline worker, researcher, writer and campaigner from the Dominican Republic. Raquel’s work specialises in ending male violence against girls and women, and the protection and advancement of sex-based rights.
Dr Laura Favaro: Originally from Spain, Laura is a lecturer in Social Science at Bournemouth University. She conducted the first ever research project on the ‘gender wars’ in academia at City, University of London. She is now taking City to an Employment Tribunal.
Vaishanvai Sundar: Joining us via video link from India, Vaishnavi is an independent filmmaker, writer and a feminist activist. Her upcoming film, ‘Behind the Looking Glass’, will be the first to document the stories of women whose partners 'transitioned'.
The event will be expertly chaired by presenter and broadcaster Dame Jenni Murray, who has been described as ‘not just a “national treasure”, but an international one’ in recognition of her three decades as presenter of Woman’s Hour.
The event will be introduced by our own Baroness Sarah Ludford, Lib Dem Lords front-bencher and Liberal Voice for Women Honorary President
